COLNE MARITIME DVDs

Colne Maritime is a history of Brightlingsea and Rowhedge, two Essex communities with a shared heritage of bargemen, fishing smacks and shipwrights. Men and women vividly recount their experiences of life by the River Colne as work and leisure changed from the 1890s to 1900s with the fortunes of sail power.

This double disc set includes a feature length documentary with spectacular imagery of sailing smacks, racing dinghies and mighty sailing barges. There is a separate film about wildfowling - "Punt gunning", bonus features of sea shanties and extended versions of chapters such as barge renovation, sailmaking, and racing under sail.

Disc 1 - Colne Maritime (1hr 32mins) and a short film on Punt gunning
Disc 2 - extended chapters and bonus features (1hr 34 mins)
