T he last barge built of wood at Rochester in 1928 by Gill for L.R.T.C.
Aux. Kelvin 66 fitted in 1931, worked as motorbarge with grain, animal feeds and other bulk cargoes. During the war she was requisitioned for work in the evacuation of Dunkirk, and saw additional service in Scotland working from the Clyde. She returned to coastal trading and worked until the 1960s. She was then rerigged as a Company charter barge to replace Sirdar. Now owned by James Tuffs. See for more information
She has a grey hull and black wales, and may still carry her name in her mizzen sail.
