More than 100 years old!
Mirosa was built in 1892 at Maldon, Essex by John Howard. Originally called 'The Ready' was built primarily for carrying hay, straw and timber between the port of London and rivers along the Kentish, Essex and Suffolk coasts. In the 1930's she passed into ownership of Francis & Gilders of Colchester who, in 1947, sold her original name to Trinity House for a new lightship tender and she was renamed "Mirosa". She continued trading under sail until 1955 when she was unrigged and sold to become a timber lighter back in her native Maldon. However ten years later she was sold into retirement and re-rigged for sailing. (More about MIROSA)
