IFOS 2003

The model barge display, which was part of the model boat section of the International Festival of the Sea, Edinburgh, May 23-26 2003, featured a variety of Thames Sailing Barges, whilst the full size sailing barge MAY was also present at the Festival, and moored close by.
Models featured were:
Mike Seymour's authentically constructed barge hull
David Savage's barge constructed from the Celia Jane plans by David Metcalfe
S.B. Thistle model built using a fibre glass hull made by Paul Stringer. This is the only sailing barge to be built in Scotland
S.B. Wyvenhoe, built from the HFM kit
S.B Beric, built from a Tony Williams fibre glass hull, by the late Reg LaFosse
S.B. Cabby, built from a Tony Williams fibre glass hull by Ray Parrott
S.B. Cambria, a wooden planked hull built by Mick Martin
S.B. Venta, a wooden stack barge
built by Mick Martin
S.B. Katheen, a wooden block from an Authentic Models kit
S.B. Reminder, an small solid hulled model by XXXXX, modified to resemble this barge.

The display was judged as the best themed display in the Model Boat section of the festival.
